Jack W. Jones
Jack Wrightson Jones of Neavitt, died at the University of Maryland Medical Center, in Baltimore on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was 65 years of age.
Born in Easton Memorial Hospital on September 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Julian F. and Marie Wrightson Jones. After graduating from St. Michaels High School in 1964, Jack worked for the St. Michaels Mill before going into the US Army in 1967. While in the military he served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Following his release from active duty he returned to Neavitt where he worked as a waterman. Later he became a General Contractor. He retired in January 2012 due to health reasons.
Jack was proud to be a native “Eastern Shoreman.” He loved Change Point Farm, his dog,” Star”, his workboat, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his nieces and nephews. He was proud of his extensive Birding Life Lists. Jack has been a loyal friend to the Bill W organization for 11 years. He is survived by his constant loving companion, Star, his siblings: Elaine and Bill Eveland, of Ridgley, Judy Allen of Neavitt and South Korea, Gus Jones of Bozman, Phil and Martha Jones of Ohio, Rebecca and Robert Jump, Jr. of Neavitt.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M.on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home, St Michaels Md. The Rev. Fred Bahr O.S.L. will officiate.
Burial will be private.
