Judith Croswell Gleaton's Obituary
Judith "Judy" Croswell Gleaton of Federalsburg passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her home in Federalsburg surrounded by her family. She was 83.
She was born on July 23, 1940 in Easton, Maryland the daughter of the late William "Beads" R. Croswell and Dorothy James Croswell.
She was married to William "Bill" Gleaton. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2007.
Always a hard worker, she worked most all of her life as a clerical secretary, and worked at Union United Methodist Church for the last 20 years. In addition to being a life-long member of Union Church she served as past president of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #62 and served two terms as Grand Worthy Matron. In her free time, Judy loved to cook and spend time with her loving family.
She is survived by four children: J. Michelle Gannon of Federalsburg, Patti Roosen O'Dell of King George, VA, Kelly Trader Lord of Federalsurg and John W. "Jack" Trader, III and his wife Sonya of Laurel, DE; two grandchildren: Mitchell W. Lord of Lexington Park, MD and Shelby C Trader of Laurel, DE; and two sisters: Deborah Deighan and her husband Bob of Chester, MD and Joanne Brady and her husband John of North Carolina.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00 at Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg. The Reverend Dan Gedman will officiate assisted by Reverend Dr. Joe Smith and Reverend Craig Gaunt. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg from 6:00 to 8:00.
