Losing a family member or close friend is one of the hardest things that we can go through in life. Coping with the grief and finding a way to move forward is an incredibly difficult journey. But it is one that many of us must undertake at some point or another, no matter how heart-breaking it feels in the moment. One of the ways is by taking comfort in the fact that we are not the first person to experience this pain. There are no goodbyes. When I am on Palmers Mill Road, he will always be in my thoughts about the times well spent and experiences that we shared. Kenny was a boss, which became a mentor, and then a best friend. I spoke to him in the final last weeks of his life, and we still were able to connect as if nothing was wrong. We both knew. To lose a friend is a great loss but having Kenny in my life was a blessing that everyone should be able to experience. American Corners will never be the same.
