I also wanted to thank you Uncle Mike for coming to Dave's service when he passed away suddenly this past December. I was so touched by your strength and determination to be there for me and to show your respect for Dave just by watching you, that coming to Dave's service had to have been a struggle on you physically but you never once complained. Uncle Mike, that touched my heart to the core because it showed your love for me and the lengths and depths you would go to for your family. I had close, HEALTHY friends of mine that knew Dave as well, yet they didn't show up to his service. I remember Dave telling me a story of you, and you volunteering to help with setting up the corn maze next to the Preston Department. Dave, at the time, had recently became a member of Preston fire department and was told to manage the process of setting up the corn maze. Dave was instructed that there was to be NO alcohol consumption while set up was taking place of the corn maze. Apparently someone saw you and your buddies throwing back a few brews and had told Dave that he was to Inform you and your friends, that no alcohol was to be consumed during set up. Dave had told me that at the time, he didn't know you, but Dave said "I soon met him." Dave said as he began to walk over to the tractor, where you and your buddies were, to inform you
of the "rules!" Dave said as he approached you, and Dave being no taller than 5'6 to 5'8, you stood up at 6' plus, and asked him in your deep voice "Hey man, how you doin? You want a
beer?" Dave told me, as Dave loved to throw back a few as well, "Hell yea man. Thanks alot." Dave told me that he wasn't about to say anything to you abiut not drinking. Dave had told me that he sat there with you and your friends, about an hour or so that night, and that he had had a good time just sitting around "Bulls@iting" with you. He said that when he did make it back over to the firehouse and was questioned if he told you about the rules that he replied"have you seen how tall he is...you don't want him to drink then you tell him because I'm not," Dave chuckling as he walked away. Will you do me a favor and give my Dad and Dave a big hug and a kiss on the cheek for me. Also please give my love to mom mom, pop pop, aunt Shirley, aunt Doris, uncle Howard and Tammy. Thanks Uncle Mike and I'll see u again...love u!
