Shirley & George,
Warren & I send our condolences on the death of your Mother & Mother in law.
Your Mom & Dad certainly left a wonderful legacy that will be joyfully used and remembered throughout the county, state and nation, as threshermen enthusiast from all around have come to participate in the show. Fond memories of true history and the re-enactment of history this generation would never know of, is such a gift to our youth, as well as the elders that get to step back in a time centered on sharing the best work ethics. No computers, no iPhones...but hard work, good food and the true meaning caring about your family and neighbors with conversation face to face.
She leaves behind a legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as proof of a Life Well Lived! And just as you Shirley, held by your heels with your Dad's hands so you could reach into those big steam engines and get to the parts his big hands couldn't fit to help fix something...Your son, the Rocket Scientist from American Corner (who I am sure has an iPhone-etc), works with the steam engines and threshes wheat at the show and gets dirty and loves it. I know your Mother & Father are proud of him and all of the family.
So as Heaven opens it's Pearly Gates to welcome her into the Arms of Love, she will be reunited with all those loved ones that preceded her.
Remember, To some, death is the beginning of the greatest love ever.
