Morris Lee Simms, Sr.'s Obituary
Morris Lee Simms, Sr. of Wilmington, DE passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE. He was 75 years old.
He was born July 5, 1933 in Federalsburg, MD, the son of the late Noble E. and Eleanor Haynes Simms.
He was a freight truck driver and also drove for DART bus service. He also worked as a security guard for Diamond State Securities in Wilmington, DE.
He is survived by his wife, Jessee Loveda Helton Simms, eight children,
Schindel Barricks and Keith Simms, both of Wilmington, Morris Simms, II of Bridgeville, DE, Sherri Simms-Malone and David Simms, both of PA, Lori Watson of Phoenix, AZ, Richard Simms of Newark, DE and Lionel Simms of Smyrna, DE; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Claude Simms of Cambridge, MD, Russell Simms of Smyrna, Virgil Simms of Hurlock, MD, Shirley Woolford of Seaford, DE, Barbara Stevens of Dover, DE, Sylvia Ross of Camden, DE, and Brenda Simms of Newark and many nieces,nephews, cousins and aunts. A son, Michael Simms and two brothers, Shelton Simms and Alonzo Simms preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. Sept. 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg, MD with Rev. Stanley Ricketts officiating. Interment will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sat. from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
