Nancy P Misita's Obituary
Nancy Phillips Misita of Greenwood passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at her home. She was 76.
She was born on November 26, 1946 in Jamaica, New York the daughter of the late Alfred D. Phillips and Eleanor Mock Phillips.
Nancy was an educator for many years and had a passion working to better the lives of all children. She continued to advocate for children by serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Sussex County, Delaware. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by four children: Billy Misita and his wife Diana of Massapequa, NY, Alex Kienle and her husband Lee Yaffe of Delray Beach, FL, Nicole Misita of Greenwood, and Genevieve Jennai and her husband Abe of Laurel, MD; 9 grandchildren: Jalila Jennai, Savannah Jennai, Joseph Misita, Christina Misita, Jessica Misita, Livianna Kienle, Kaili Yaffe, Jason Yaffe, and Emily Yaffe. She is also survived by her dog Porsche, her sister Jane Phillips of Seaford, DE, partner John Conte of Drexel Hill, PA and ex-husband, William Misita of Seaford, DE.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00am at the Framptom Funeral Home (Fleischauer Chapel) in Greenwood with Pastor Marie Coulbourne officiating. Inurnment will follow at Saint Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. There will be a gathering after the inurnment at 12143 Beach Highway, Greenwood, DE.
