Penny Lee Miller
Tilghman, Penny Lee Miller was sent to Heaven, at 76 years-old, on Monday, June 27, 2016. She was born in Teaneck, NJ on September 28, 1939, the daughter of Douglas and Elizabeth Van Blarcom. After living in northern New Jersey for the majority of her life while raising her two children, Henry Miller and Elizabeth Longo, Penny moved to Newark, Delaware where she resided for about 20 years. She then made the decision to pack up and move to the beautiful island of Tilghman, MD. Penny worked mainly as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper, her other jobs included Linens and Things Corporate Office, Security Archives, Delaware Holding Company, and Two if By Sea. She also enjoyed spending her time with her knitting group, volunteering at the Waterman’s Museum, and taking exercise classes at the YMCA. She is survived by her sister, Dolores Glander, son Henry, his fiancé Scott Spittler and her daughter Elizabeth Longo, she was the loving grandmother to Sara, Nicole, and Andrew Longo; Alex and Sarah Spittler. Her loyal dog Sugar will also miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Faithful Friends Pet Rescue, Wilmington DE, or Tilghman Waterman’s Museum. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at 11:00am-1:00pm, at the Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels, Maryland, burial service at 2pm at the Tilghman’s Methodist Cemetery followed by a reception for family and friends at Two if by Sea Restaurant, Tilghman MD. Additionally the family will have a “Celebration of Life†reception on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the home of Elizabeth Longo, 127 Emwood Drive, Emerson New Jersey, from 11am to 2pm for close family and friends.
