“Mr. Pete”
I am sorry to say that I never knew Mr. Van de Visser until recently even though I have known Bobby my entire life.
We were in the same class in school.
When my mother joined the William Hill Manor family six years ago, I was reacquainted with Mr. Van de Visser or as he was lovingly known as “Mr. Pete”. When I would visit Mom, I would always see him on his scooter with his famous hat going up and down the hallways. The first time I saw him, he looked at me and said you are Johnny McMahan’s daughter.
It didn’t take long for me to learn that he was a favorite there. He teased the nurses and sometimes would go behind the nurses station and give them a little “love pat”. That made their day.
I know I will miss seeing him around the Manor, but I know he is in a better place now.
