You taught me a lot ,not only about shipping but more importantly about integrity and professionalism , back in an era when your word was your bond .
We had so many good times together ,latterly on your annual Grand Tours of Europe with the ever fragrant Ann .
In particular,I’ll never forget a lunch in San Francisco when you announced it was your treat ,but I was to choose the wine .Big mistake …..we’d had so many fine wines together in numerous fancy restaurants in Europe ,but I didn’t know much at all about “ New World “ wines back then in the 80s ,so when my eyes alighted on something called “ Screaming Eagle “ , I thought ,why not ,let’s give it a spin ! One enormous bill later , and it was more a case of “ Screaming Rasmus “ .
Your star shone brightly Rasmus ,for every one of your 92 years .Rest in peace .
