Sallie H. Helm Easton, Sallie Harper Helm of Easton, died at the Talbot Hospice House on, Sunday August 7, 2016. She was 85. Born on August 7, 1931 in Crowville, LA. She was the daughter of the late Henry Alton and Ermanie Thornhi Read Obituary
Gene and Sallie had been dear old friends since 1953, and I miss both of them. We met when Gene and I were new members of the faculty at Louisiana College. We stayed in touch over the years, and they influenced my directions in life more than once. They were both quite remarkable individuals.
Sallie and I were classmates at Georgetown Law Center (class of 1974). In addition, we both served in the U.S. Attorney's Office for D.C. for several years. She was a devoted friend. I was shocked to learn of her passing only today (9-14-16). I had been trying to contact her this week and was puzzled at the lack of response. Another mutual friend discovered her passing. Sallie was a learned and delightful person, with a wonderful wit. I will miss her very much. Cheryl M. Long Washington, D.C.
