Shirley J. Dixon's Obituary
Shirley J. Dixon of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 68.
She was born Aug. 7, 1943 in Caroline County, MD, the daughter of the late
Milton Earl Jackson and Margie Marie Beulah Jackson. Her husband, Carlgene A. Dixon, Sr., preceded her in death on July 9, 1996.
She was a Line Inspector for the former Deluany’s Foods, presently Pictswett. Shirley was a member of the Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg where she
served and an usher and in the nursery, and was a member of the WOWW.
She is survived by a daughter Sherry L. Jackson of Cambridge, a son Carlgene A. Dixon, Jr. (Jozet) of Bridgeville, DE, two grandsons whom she raised as sons, James E. Jackson (Lanni Mosley) and Henry A. Smack of Federalsburg, four grandchildren Antonio Harmon of Preston, Ashonay Dixon and Alonzo Dixon, both of Bridgeville, and Avia Harmon of Preston, four great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Turner, Jayonia Jackson, Jazmir Jackson, and James Jackson, Jr.; two step-grandchildren Joquon Smith and Janaya Smith, both of Bridgeville; a sister Margaret Stanley of Trappe, and a brother Thomas Jackson (Frances) of Seaford, DE; special nephew James Stanley and other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter LaVahn Harmon, three sisters, Gladys Jackson, Ida Hammond, and Mildred Jackson, a brother James Jackson and a nephew Nelson Stanley.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug .23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Park Lane Church of God with Bishop Ray Parsons and Rev. Jeff Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
