I worked with Tom at Tiffany’s in the late 70’s. What fun we had, selling wedding bands. Lots of laughs and swearing!

I live in the UK and have only just learnt the sad news of Tom's passing. Tom and I worked together in Asprey back in the 1980s and although we lost touch when I returned to London, he was often in my thoughts as I embarked on my career in the theatre. I knew Tom to be a kind and supportive person, full of humour and mischief. I remember him with great fondness and send my sincere sympathies to his loved ones and all those who mourn his sad loss. Rest in peace Tom. Graham

Tom. Hello Dolly was one of the most wonderful, pivotal moments of my life. It is something I think about daily, and cherish. I was 17, and not sure I could ever be a leading lady. Your care, passion and humor inspired me to grow into the best version of myself I could muster. I will never forget early on in the rehearsal process you basically telling me to bring my "A game" to every practice...or else lol. There was to be no hiding on my part, no playing it safe. I had to take center stage, now. I was pretty nervous, but you were so gentle and clear that I did. And that experience has informed every day of my life since...I do my best to lead others the way you led me, led us. It is woven into who I am now, that part of me you brought to life.
I think my favorite part of Hello Dolly! was just improvising with you how to drop and retrieve that food down my dress in the restaurant scene. Just you and I doing what we shared best privately, how to be silly and funny and really milk a joke. There is such an intimacy in that, in creating art together.
I think it is safe to say that you have lived and full, rich, beautiful life. You are known, you are loved, and you pulled art out of all of us. I am better for having known you, as we all are. This is my standing ovation.
With love,
Adrienne
Tom was an incredible person who left a lasting impact on many lives. I have fond memories of spending numerous summers at Justine's with my family. I visited the shop so often that Tom offered me my first job at the age of 14, and I continued working there every summer throughout high school and college. Tom stood out as a boss with his unique, creative, and laid-back approach, making the work environment enjoyable and fun. The famous wall of milkshakes and the movie posters adorning the shop's walls were always a crowd favorite. I feel privileged to have known Tom and gained valuable experience and lessons from him. Tom’s vibrant personality will be greatly missed. My condolences and heartfelt thoughts go to Tom’s family and loved ones as they navigate through this difficult time.
I think of Tom as the man to wear the Coat of Many Colors...although he always preferred red. Loved working with him. The kids from the musicals will always remember to "pick up the meat"
