Our family just heard the sad news of Tom's passing. Our hearts are feeling broken tonight learning this news, but we are also reminded of how blessed we were to have him in our lives for a while. Tom worked one-on-one with my son, Vincent in the ARC program. They were great buddies from the get go! Tom with his witty humor, always had Vincent laughing and having fun! He often spoke of his son and you knew how proud he was. Please know that he was such a special guy and we are so grateful that he decided to work at the ARC so that we could have that time with him! He truly touched our lives! Vincent loved him like family. Hugs and Prayers for all that loved him!
Tom hired me at WCEI in the 80's... We spent man years there together with an incredible group of people and a lot of laughter... Our air staff was comprised of great guys who were full of character, and all loved radio... The sales staff back then was second to none... There were days we played more commercials than music... Tom, Bob, Bill, Gary, Sean, and I had a blast... Peace be Tom's family and all of us who loved him...
I listened to Tom, Bob Jackson, Gary Edsall, and Big Don O'Brien on WCEI for years. Those guys knew how to play music and have a good time. As we now say, "those were the good ole days." Condolences to Tom's family. Know that he made a difference in people's lives. I'm sure there is a reunion going on with him, Bob and Gary. Ah, the memories...

Tom was a great guy. Always made you laugh with his witty sense of humor. When Tom and my husband Bob would get together you knew you were in for a night of laughter. His caring and loving demeanor shined through when it came to his son Tom, the light of his life.
Tom will be dearly missed.

From WCEI Radio, 96.7 FM: We are very sad to report the passing of one of our “longtime fixtures” of the airwaves over the years.
Rest In Peace, Tom Wheeler.
I had the pleasure of working with Tom from 1985 to 1993 atWCEI. There was never a day we didn’t share many, many laughs over the silliest of things. He was a bright spot in that building and we all knew it and appreciated it. My deepest sympathies to the entire family. He will be remembered as a wonderful guy in my mind forever. Celeste Pyper
