Wilber Engle's Obituary
Wilber Engle of Preston, MD passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Easton. He was 94 years old.
He was born on May 6, 1918, the son of the late Richard William Engle and Effie Jane Secrist Engle.
He was a grain and poultry farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston where he served as past chairman of the Board of Trustees. Wilber was a charter member of Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Association and the Eastern Shore Thresherman Association. He was also a member of the Caroline County Farm Bureau for many years.
Wilber is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Ethel Quidas Engle whom he married, April 3, 1943, three children, Irene E. Wheatley and her husband, Richard of Federalsburg, Richard Wilber Engle and his wife, Peggy of Preston, Timothy Lewis Engle and his wife, Christine of Federalsburg, three grandchildren, Joanna Durando and her husband Anthony of Federalsburg, Scott Engle of Baltimore, Anna Engle of Easton, two greatgranddaughters, Kalei and Zoe Durando of Federalsburg, two sisters-in-law, Katherine Engle and Millie Quidas both of Preston. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two children, Alan Lee Engle and Eileen Ellen Engle, five brothers, Raymond Engle, Howard Engle, Melvin Engle, Harvey Engle, Lee Engle and a sister, Rena Engle.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Thomas Becker officiating. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday.
