Condolences to our friend and coworker, Adam. Your department family loves you! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

1984 I arrived at the Denton Shop, Maryland State Highway Administration. Everyone knew that the Resident Maintenance Engineer, Vaughn Hutson, did not like change and I was the change he was not happy with at the time. All the men, as I was the only female, assigned to the Denton Shop, so they wanted me to feel welcomed and protect me from the upset RME. And, Willie was the one who checked in on me everyday to assure me that I was a welcomed addition to the Denton Shop. He was quite a gentleman and a person who believed "if you don't do it right, don't do it at all. The equipment assigned to Willie, you could eat your lunch on the floor board. When he had operated any piece of equipment, when he returned to the shop, it was showroom perfect. No person should have to clean/fuel-up, before they use it the next day. He was a fine example for all. And, let me not forget the flower beds he created and maintained at the front door of rhe Denton Shop. Willie and I looked forwarded to spring, Willie, you and Nancie go to Parker Stones's Murdoch's greenhouses, Jamesway, Roses get the plants we need to brighten the Shop entrance. I wanted my CDL's Class B, Willie went to our new RME, can I help Nancie get her CDL's. I passed my three tests, "air brakes" hard one, I passed score 100%. We began driving, three weeks in, we received a message, because she is not a road worker, we can not be liable for her and her training. She must do off state property. There went my CDL's. He was so proud of his family. When he talked about his girls, they were so smart, and knew they would make a difference in this world. And, Miss Joan the love of his life. I know you are going to be so lost with your rock missing. But, he showed you how to be strong and how, no matter the task, it should be done and done right the first time. God Bless Willie's family. Sending love and prayers. Nancie Hall (just the secretary)
